Steel Engineer BSEng
Learn to independently make structural calculations. This course has a broad foundation.« terug naar Staalconstructeur BSEng Meld je aan voor deze opleiding
The aim of the course is to provide participants the basic knowledge required to independently make structural calculations. To this end, students are trained in constructive skills at HBO (higher vocational education) level.
In order to meet the demand for quickly employable engineers, and in collaboration with the Dutch Concrete Association (Betonvereniging), Bouwen met Staal organizes the Concrete Engineer BSEng and Steel Engineer BSEng courses.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- test for compliance with standards;
- perform a simple check of a frame calculation;
- check computer calculations according to rules of thumb.
The study program consists of approximately 75% general subjects (such as mechanics and general construction: concrete, steel, and wood) and 25% steel-related subjects. Graduates from this course will be eligible for the Master program, Steel Engineer MSEng.
HBO – higher vocational education
In combination with a completed HBO level prior education, completion of the course provides 400 Knowledge Units for the Engineers’ Register.
1 year (36 afternoon-evenings).
Classes take place weekly on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
After passing the exams, the student will receive the Steel Engineer BSEng degree.
The course is intended for HBO-level structural, civil, or mechanical engineering graduates without a constructive graduation program in steel structures, and for graduates from the Structural Steel Design Engineer BmS or Concrete Engineer MBO+ courses. Please submit a copy of the relevant certifications when signing up.
